The Outreach & Service Ministry at First Presbyterian Church is built around the call of the PC (USA) to “reveal God’s grace in places of suffering and need, to resist the forces that tyrannize, and to support the forces that restore the dignity of all.”
Granting Process
One of the ways we live out our calling to be peacemakers at First Church is by supporting organizations and groups whose work aligns with the mission of First Church. Each year, First Church grants about $100,000 to groups in New York City and around the world. In the past, grants have typically ranged, but are not limited to, amounts from $2,000 – $10,000.
Our current grant focus is on the following: Immigration/Refugees/Asylum Seekers, LGBTQ Issues, Interfaith Dialogue, Racial Equity and Reconciliation, Environmental Stewardship, and Poverty/Homelessness/Hunger, and PC(USA) Agencies.
