Summer Reading Discussion (virtual)
July 26, 2023 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
July 14th & August 17th:
Join in the Congregational Read this summer as we read How the Word is Passed: A Reckoning With the History of Slavery Across America by Clint Smith. The book is widely available, and a few copies will be at the front desk of the church to borrow.
When: 12-2 p.m., drop in any time
This group reading is for folks who:
- want to build community around reading
- want some scheduled time set aside to read
- want to read but are really busy and the external accountability will help!
There will be snacks for those in person. We’ll take a couple breaks to share learnings and insights, but this will mostly be time set aside to read.
Each of the group reading sessions takes place the week before the Book Discussions, held via Zoom on July 26th and August 23rd from 6:30 – 8 p.m. Reading is recommended but not required to participate in the Book Discussions. If you don’t have time to read, but still want to learn, please join the Book Discussions (and consider listening to a podcast with author Clint Smith).
